- Binding Financial Agreements – including the drafting and advice of Pre-Nuptial Financial Agreements and Financial Agreements during relationships. If you already have a BFA prepared by another lawyer, our team can review it thoroughly and give you advice as to the advantages and disadvantages to you of entering into the agreement. We identify any potential risks or unfair clauses and provide you with advice on how best to proceed and negotiate terms that align with your interests.
- Divorce Applications – Including drafting and filing of Applications and appearance in Court on sole applications.
- Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders – including representation before the Local Courts, advice on applications for both victims and defendants.
Mediation & Dispute Resolution
In most cases, mediation is now a mandatory part of the family law process in both parenting and property settlement matters.
At GHL, we believe that mediation is often the most effective way to resolve family law disputes and can help parties avoid the need for lengthy and costly court proceedings. Mediation offers a confidential and structured environment where parties can negotiate solutions for parenting and property matters with the assistance of a neutral mediator.
We represent you during mediation sessions or provide guidance if you choose to attend mediation independently. Our focus is on achieving practical and fair resolutions, that allow you to move forward.
Family Violence & Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVO)
If you are experiencing family violence, your first point of contact is NSW Police. Where appropriate, they will make an application for an ADVO and run the application in Court. There will be nothing for you to do, other than give evidence and attend Court as a witness. You do not need independent legal representation.
We are able to represent clients who have been served with an ADVO and need legal advice on how to respond. Whether you are seeking protection or defending against allegations, our team will guide you through the legal process with sensitivity and discretion.
